About Us
The Company
Cragsted Race Engines began in 1991 with owners Craig and Rosemarie Hasted and has now been successfully running for approximately 18 years. The company began with one worker, Craig Hasted, and has now become well established with staff of up to nine people. Cragsted began in the industry of motor racing engine construction and development for drag racing, speedway and boat racing.
The following 19 years has seen the company shift its focus to the V8 super car industry and has had many successful contracts with teams such as Steve Ellery Racing, Paul Weel Racing, and more recently WPS Racing. The past three years saw Cragsted Race Engines close off any external work whilst in an exclusive three-year contract with WPS Racing. More recent work now includes Porsche Carrera cup series engines and TKR.
The company and Craig Hasted have successfully built up a reputation for building and presenting an engine program that not only produces high quality engines, but also the knowledge and experience of Craig are beyond many engine builders in the industry. The workshop boasts all the latest technology and equipment, which enables us to offer an extensive research and development program. Some of the equipment we use include the TREND Spintron & Laser Measuring Machine, HAAS CNC Machine, Superflow SF1020 Flow bench, Superflow Dyno, and Mangaflux Crack tester.
Craig Hasted
Craig Hasted has always had a passion for the racing industry. This passion lead to him to start his own business in 1991 with his wife Rosemarie. Craig has a history in the drag racing industry, which spans over a period of 10 years. He began with a Pro Stock car he built and raced between 1991 and 2001 in which he won the 1999 Australian Pro Stock Championship. The following years saw Craig give up his drag racing to shift all focus on to Cragsted Race Engines, as the company changed its direction to taking on V8 super car contracts.
